New business operations up and running, targeting the European market
Head of Partnerships Eero Martikainen has been responsible for building Syklo’s development story since day one. Going forward, he will be in charge of growth partnerships and accounts for the Syklo companies. With these new responsibilities, his focus will be in getting Syklo’s new business operations up and running.
We crystalised Syklos’ strategy in the spring of 2024 to increase our focus on strong transformative growth in plastic recycling and manufacture of biocomposites. Additionally, we will continue to develop our current circular economy system, striving for a higher recycling rate and better quality and commercial value for our end products.
Employed by Syklo since 2022, Eero Martikainen’s role in our new strategy is to ensure that Syklo’s plastic recycling plant and biocomposite factory will have enough customers and partners.
“It has been a privilege to help build a foundation for Syklo’s growth in the past two years. Now it is time to focus on getting the new business operations up and running, and I cannot wait to provide my contribution. We are pivoting towards the international market particularly with our biocomposite and recycled plastic products. We need strong long-term partnerships in order to succeed in this undertaking. We have a highly capable team and everything we need to grow into a major European circular economy company,” says the new Head of Partnerships Eero Martikainen, looking ahead.
New investments enable our customers and partners to:
- reduce the carbon footprint of plastic durables and packaging;
- access the highest-quality and most durable end products from recycled raw materials;
- find more wide-ranging applications for recycled raw materials;
- make financial profit; and
- form international brand partnerships with the most forward-looking recycler in the industry.
The entire Syklo team extends its best wishes to Eero in his new duties. So far, Eero has been responsible for identifying growth areas at Syklo, conducting the related negotiations and executing the transactions involved. Eero holds an international Master’s Degree in circular economy. Before joining the Syklo team, he worked with technology sales and business development in waste management.
“I’m proud that we are able to give our in-house professionals new roles with more responsibilities. Eero’s inherent curiosity, wide-ranging expertise, analytical and hard-working nature and international competence will take him far in the new role. And most importantly, Eero is a well-liked colleague who, like so many of us here at Syklo, wants to help others improve and has the ability to look beyond his own desk,” says Syklo’s Managing Director Teemu Koskela.
