Syklo’s waste sorting plant resumes operation after the fire
A fire broke out at the recycling plant on 2 September. The processing equipment has now been repaired and the operation of the sorting plant has resumed.
According to Syklo’s managing director, Teemu Koskela, the cause of the fire has been determined. The fire originated from the plant’s metal separation process and damaged the adjoining belt conveyors, magnet, and electrical cabling. The swift actions taken by the Syklo employees and the fire brigade prevented further damage. The process has now been changed to prevent a similar situation from happening again.
